JFC. Your past 24 posts have been solely on this topic kver the past 5 days.
Why do you care so much?
I don't, really. The feature in TD that notifies you when a post is replied to draws me back into it.
The posts I've made have taken approximately 30 minutes of my life, in total, to make.
Why do you care so much that I am posting here? I'm not an attorney, I don't work for the OMV, I don't work for the state, and I have no real interest here other than this is an absolutely fascinating story to me. I don't care, per se, but it is interesting.

That guy looked our way when we were seated and made the comment "They're going to have to appeal this". When we all were walking out that same guy said "We're going to have to appeal this".
LOL, I know I asked that question earlier too - was more wondering if you were going to have poked the bear with the lawsuit and they just stuck it to you.
I can 1000% promise you I've not had any interactions with this case other than these posts. I know I'm giving you a hard time but I'm not that invested.

Excuse me if I overlooked and missed it, but did you (can you) post a pic of the petition and order?
I’m curious as to how it reads.

I can't share more but I kicked over a very large hornets nest when I did this. It got the attention of A LOT of people at a very high level. I know that to be a fact.
I think this thread was part of that. Some of the laws posted in this thread were presented by the state.

Not doubting you, but I’m curious as to the court’s reasoning for granting your request.

Considering the facts, it was a reasonable request. The DMV was the cause of all they delaying, my son shouldn’t suffer for that.
Or at least that was my logic. The judge agreed.

Your son suffered because you wanted to be a hard arse

Life generally gives the test first and the lesson afterwards. I don’t see why so many are getting their knickers in a knot.
The DMV can go EAD if they don’t want to follow the law.
The DMV has a stupid amount of power. Able to seize your tax refunds if you have unpaid fines or if they believe you are driving without insurance even if you moved to another state. They are a mess.

What would it take for you to start pushing back?
something other than a made up "injustice" that affects pretty much no one else on earth the way it apparently affects you... i know you think you look cool b/c you got your way or your point was made, or whatever the frick it is you were trying to accomplish, but literally everyone else here thinks you are a supreme douche, with nothing better to do than be a supreme douche... your pyrrhic victory suits you, my guy.... again, you do you... just don't be surprised that everyone here is laughing AT you, not with you...

You're just wrong. Speak for yourself. Some people don't like it when the government makes up their own rules.

Ok come on. You think the lawyers for the state couldn’t find the laws anywhere else so they looked here?

You're really not good at basic logic, are you?
How on earth did you come to the conclusion I somehow believe that?

Is getting a driver's license required by law?
quote:
let's be clear - he made a choice in 2009 or so without fully understanding the consequences of that choice. He made the choice. Nobody did that for him or to him.
He also made the choice to get his son a driver's permit. That decision is as much to blame for the issue as the one you reference. Neither indicate this is his fault.

He created a difficult situation for his son that could have been avoided long before they ever walked into the OMV
quote:
I think that's wrong.

In my view, I would avoid any scenario that intentionally creates difficulty for my children
None of this is important. His opinion is different. Neither of your opinions is important to the end result...which is the OMV wrongly prevented him from getting the license.

I think he's lucky that his son hasn't ghosted him over this.

Your words. Not hard at all. The implication of your statement above is that this thread got their attention, and you then said that some of the laws posted here were used in the hearing. It’s not hard to make a leap that you believe some of the following:
A) the state people were aware of this particular thread and thus were “rattled” in some way and needed to pay close attention
B) someone from the state is posting here and used the same arguments as those posted here
C) state lawyers didn’t think of these arguments on their own but got great ideas from here
I think you are now just saying shite that is untrue or exaggerated to make yourself feel better and then hiding behind “I can’t say more here.”

I was with you up till this point. I never said that nor implied it. Your brilliant logic brought you to that conclusion.

Fair enough. All I said was that you implied something like this. Why even bring up this thread and the fact that some of these laws were the same one cited if you won’t tell us why you think that is in any way related? Just say whatever it is that you think happened rather than leave the interpretation open for others.
Tell us what they said or did at the hearing that made you think that this thread was in any way related to this.

Again, just because he won a legal case doesn't mean he is right.
It literally means exactly that.
