I’m embarrassed to admit, I’ve become a disaster prepper

This seems as bad as hoarding to me.

I’ve now stashed 30 day food supplies. 50 gallons of Kentwood Springs water. Stocked tons of ammo. Numerous other random things like toilet paper, paper towels, etc.

Some of the old men I know carry about a years worth of food supply. I figured if whatever it is lasts more than 30 days, I’m screwed anyway. More food isn’t going to help me.

I feel like I’ve given into panic. The other side of me says it doesn’t hurt.

Friend,

We have a six month supply of rice and beans here and Le Sueur peas.

Yours,

Been stocking guns and ammo, but that's it so far. I think it will be ok during the day for a while at least.

like a gun, food is better to have and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I've always kept a decent amount of ammo on hand just in case. Owning a gun is useless without plenty of ammo.

I hate running out of toilet paper and had a fairly embarrassing amount in the closet in my home office when covid hit. I think I finally had to buy more about a month ago

There is nothing wrong with having supplies available in case something unexpected happens.

There are people who take it to extremes and I think they let it take over their life.

But I think its a good idea for everyone to keep a certain amount of water supply, you can never have too much ammo. More than likely you will not have to use it.. Or use it as much as the amount of ammo you have, but you can use some to trade for other things if needed.

As for as food, you want to have canned good available or anything that you can keep for a long time, but you can find other food sources. Hunt, fish, grow, etc.

At this point it's more like a disaster reactionary. The shite hit the fan months ago

It was a tough discussion with the wife to ask to spend $600 on 30 day supply of food. In the end, I just had to ask her to trust me.

My argument was that even after Katrina, we had to go get MRE food from the National Guard. The pandemic wiped out the shelves, I was there. It could always be worse.

I was going to order a 6 month supply each but $3,000 seemed like a rough sell and we lack the storage space.

Better safe than sorry. Also I wouldn't talk about it to anyone you know. You really don't want very many people knowing you've got food and vital supplies if it ever hit the fan.

You are a smart man.

We are less that 2 months out from a Presidential election that neither side will concede and both sides will claim victory.

I suspect we will make it through in the end but it's smart to prepare for a rough ride.

I was looking at mypatriotsupply.Com but then I realized I’m a hoarder by nature lol. There’s 3-5lbs each of rice, quinoa, pasta, & steel cut oats at any time in my pantry. Bring on the famine!

This is what I ordered. I buy other things that don’t expire and she doesn’t realize it. There are things I always pick up from the store every time I’m there. We have tons of oatmeal we don’t eat and she always complains about. She doesn’t even realize why it’s there.

How many people? The shite lasts like 25 years. It’ll get used sooner or later
