If you’re a remote worker why can’t you leave and go somewhere ? As long as you have WiFi (which is nearly everywhere) and laptop you can still handle anything that may come up.

Not if you're in a networking / data center role, or if, god forbid, you can't log into VPN. Then you go into the office/data center. If you hold the keys to the kingdom (like yours truly) you damn sure better be able to put them in the keyhole.

Travel around the city and find the best tacos you can find.

Walk around some of the ethnic areas like Chinatown, Greek Town, or Little Italy. Probably some great food and interesting window shopping.

Spend a day at one of the beaches getting some sun and taking in the scenery.

Museums.

Dude, it's Chicago. The possibilities are endless.

It's more of preference, i dont want to book last minute flights ($500+ roundtrip) hotel/airbnb ($$$$), and my city already has so much going on.

Figured I'd brainstorm some ideas

You must be a pretty shitty employee if your boss has to feed you tasks to do

Congrats on not owning a car and living in an apartment

All the info provided tells me you’re incredibly unsuccessful. Enjoy your week off watching Netflix

You missed the part where he doesn't have a car and walks everywhere. As such, I doubt he needs half the things you listed

I didn't read the comments yet but I'm sure a few will be along the lines of "try not to get shot!".

I say frick that. Go on the offensive. Use your spare time to join a local street gang. Get associated gang tattoos. Profit.
