My overseas shipments have gone from 6-8 weeks to 12-14 weeks, if I’m lucky.

Yup. My costs have gone up 15% and my lead times have all doubled.

The middle class is about to get crushed.

The COVID shite has really screwed up this economy. Everyone is hiring, but no one seems to want a job

Yeah it’s definitely a LABOR shortage not a shortage of the actual supplies.

Clothing is at least lightweight where they can fly it into Fargo over the North Pole if need be. It’s tech and things involving computer chips you need to worry about.

Clothing has very much been impacted. You are correct, that it can be airfreighted in, but the cost goes up a bunch. I don't think suppliers are willing to go that route.

I can't imagine the segment of population that has a degree that cost anywhere near $300,000. When you make a comment like this you are holding up a sign that says you're so far removed from higher education that you can't even give a somewhat reasonable price on what the average student spends on higher education.

The average medical school graduate has a little over $200k in debt. That's the tops. I'll get a degree from a state school in Idaho this year. I've used financial aid for most of it, and I'll be right at $25k when I graduate.

I'm sure there are people out there that went to a private liberal arts college and financed the entire thing. However, I'd be very curious to see what percentage of undergraduate students this makes up, because it's nowhere near anything that's typical.

Instead of trying to expand the capacity of the supply chain so we can drag more Asian produced goods across the US, maybe start making more stuff here. Oh wait, we are paying people more to stay home than their minimal skills from their $300K degree allow them to make in the workforce. And Potato Head wants to give them that $300K back. Mo PS5’s for erryone!

Ha! There are like 50+ HUGE cargo ships anchored of the coast of California as I type this. Can't port because not enough manpower and/or COVID restrictions to unload them. China, Taiwan, Vietnam, South Korea can produce all the stuff we aren't making ourselves, but if we can't get the stuff off the boat, we may end up being worse off if it wasn't being produced in the first place.

Think of all the extra costs going to just paying the crews of those boats, just to sit there. Tenders having to resupply them cost $$$ too. Some of my suppliers have resorted to flying product in. Guess who is picking up the tab for that?? Devalue our dollar then raise prices. What a great way to absolutely destroy an economy!

I can't wait. Maybe it'll finally get people to stop sitting on arse, and finally do something, speak up. Probably too late at that point though.
