If you are trying to change your outlook does that mean parts of your mind are battling?

What is happening if you have a negative belief and consciously work to change that belief to positive? Are specific, physical sections of your brain at odds with one trying to control the other? If they only are thoughts where do they come from?

And where do the ‘losing’ thoughts in this scenario go?

Yes.

Behavioral techniques can create whoever and whatever you choose to be. It's the hardest battle though over self.

But what is actually happening? It is a battle of chemicals?

I am trying to understand what is happening in the physical world when a person is wavering between beliefs.

Thanks

Nuroscientists with decades of research behind them disagree on this, but the big brains of the OT will be sure to give you the definitive answer

Of course. But one could be correct. Trust yourself.

If I’m changing my Outlook it usually means I just installed an update and restarted my computer.

Maybe. But life is fascinating, you should never be bored. This stuff is very interesting.

If you have time to watch fake Hollywood shite, you have time for the important stuff.

All of our feelings are chemical changes in our body. This is essentially a person gets a chemical response to one stimuli and then they will themselves to have a different response to said stimuli by trying to create the same feeling (chemical response) they desire when hit with that stimuli. Over time, your body can get a “memory” type learned response automatically, replicating the previously forced response. But probably requires a ton of repetition. It’s like telling a lie so many times that you believe it to be true at some point

You’re just battling a learned behavior. If your default learned behavior is to see the negative aspect of everything, you always will. You have to retrain your brain. You have total control over your thoughts and which ones you cling to. Read the untethered soul by Michael Singer. He calls that nagging, racing mind the “roommate”. If that voice was personified, how long would you hang out with it? The whole point of yoga / meditation is to increase your ability to quiet that racing mind. We had to read that Singer book for my YTT200, it’s awesome.

Yep. Behaviorist techniques can overcome anything except sheer limitations of physics.

Do we know what is battling?

Is it chemicals? Cells?

How can a mind battle itself? What allows that to happen?

Negativity or positivity are the result of negative or positive energy patterns emanating from your subconscious mind. Largely a result of childhood conditioning and experiences. Everything is energy at the quantum level and these are simply stuck energy patterns manifesting repetitive thinking.
