Society places impossible standards on us to appear a certain way and we ourselves want to appear attractive to the opposite sex. Beauty does make one's life easier. It isn't everything, but it sure as hell helps with being accepted, though it can never replace have a great personality or sense of humor.
The job of those who market the industry is to get you to feel as insecure about yourself as possible and think you need their product to be presentable. They prey on insecurity and use Hollywood to reinforce your fear, and it works.
Good job Madison Avenue.

Thank God you're here. I expected a comment like that from Nugget, but he's talking about his makeup skillz.

I'm going to bed
Anyway I will part the thread with my makeup reviews
MAC face and body > MAC studio fix fluid
MAC studio finish concealer > MAC select sheer pressed concealer
MAC pro longwear powder > MAC select sheer pressed powder
And a bonus tip: I am a big fan of NYX's loose finishing powder and dewy setting spray

Yeah ok. Move to a large metroplex where there are beautiful women everywhere and let's see how that mentality works for someone's relationship. Reminds me of that movie with Charlize theron and the devil... The devil's advocate? Where she changed to fit in when they moved from a small city to a larger one

For all women in the thread, So if your inner and outer beauty are enough why put on makeup?

Congrats he's been trying so hard not to let anyone find out by linking videos that show his face and telling everyone all about everything in his personal life. You're a genius.

I mean, my husband will love me no matter what. He won't leave me over makeup(or lack of it). However....shouldn't I want to look my best for him? If I know that makeup makes me look more attractive to him, shouldn't I wear it? If I all of a sudden stopped wearing makeup all together...isn't that the same of just letting myself go? Wouldn't it be the same as if he just decided to wear sloppy tshirts and baggy shorts everywhere we went in public?

If your inner and outer confidence is enough...why wear a nice suit for an important job interview or any formal occasion?

That's the problem in developing your self image by comparing to the superficial status of others

disclaimer, I have been married and never will again, I am on the rental program (with disclosure up front), but either I am oblivious or I am stupid (this will get quoted) but all men see their women of any relationships duration without it, so why hid who you are?3

is this about your ex growing a better mustache ?

Already answered that.
BECAUSE.IT.IS.FUN.AND.WE.LIKE.IT.
stale bread and water are enough to live on, so why eat the food you like?
Clothes from Walmart are enough to keep
You from being naked, but I bet you still put some thought into which brands you like and what clothes you wear?

How am I hiding who I am by wearing makeup?
I don't think you understand that most women don't pile makeup on their face everyday. They wear a light amount, just enough to have a more polished look. For a woman it is just part of her daily grooming. No different than a man shaving or trimming his facial hair so he has a more polished look.

As someone said earlier I'm sure, it enhances what you already have. I remember when my mother wouldn't let me wear makeup in my teens and I had breakouts and it was horrible. My self-esteem was low, but once I was able to clear my skin and wear foundation, it just made me happier, more confident. You are right that one should be happy with themselves on the inside, but I am always in favor of doing whatever you can naturally or even surgically to improve yourself. I'd rather play with makeup to improve myself and enhance my well-being on the inside mentally, than be placed on anti depressants and suffer the side effects of some of them
