I went back to Cut Off for the second time since the storm today and the heat was brutal. I was somewhere between heat stress and heat exhaustion on the heat related illness scale. I became light headed a couple of times.

I had a wide brimmed hat and tried to stay in shade as much as possible. I was drinking a 16 ounce water bottle every 45 minutes or so. I think I drank 10 bottles today and I still feel dehydrated.

The last time before today that I felt light headed from heat was high school football practice

Be careful out there. All the mess doesn’t have to be cleaned up in one day.

Thanks for the suggestion. I hope I don’t need to work 7 hours in the heat again but I will try that.

Thanks for the heads up.

ETA- oh yeah, and here’s a little known fact that could keep y’all safe. Look at your pee pee to see what color it is. The darker the more dehydrated you are.

I’m definitely not going outside tomorrow. I’m mid 50s snd normally work inside. Today was a shock to my system.

I started cutting trees at 4:30 in the morning as soon as Ida passed. I was dead tired by 3:30 in the afternoon. Before I jumped into the shower I weighed myself at 190. The day before I weighed 200.

Been working like a dog on roof for a whole week. I’m just finally getting to the point where I don’t feel completely dehydrated. You can’t drink water fast enough to keep up with this amount of work.

Make sure to intake electrolytes. 1 Powerade for every 6-7 water is a good ratio

Gotta hydrate days before your activity. Easier said than done, but it’s the truth.

I was helping someone patch up there fence, we were just standing the panels back up and bracing it the best we could until they get a contractor in to redo it. I didn't realize how dehydrated I was getting until I stopped sweating! I went and downed a couple of bottles in the shade, because of course there was no AC to go int. Sweat started pouring off my head, it is amazing how our body works.

You need some salts & minerals, try taking an epsom salt soak.

Get some MyHy. Works good for me fishing in summer and when I’m hungover. And made by a tiger, Matt Flynn.

ETA: Rouse’s carries it, at least in the store by me
