Naw Texas has embraced toll roads while Louisiana treats them like the devil.

Weird.

It’s always weird to go through the T dad town equivalent of Walker and have this magnificent, giant interchange in the middle of nowhere

ETA: leaving it

About time. I moved to Texas in 1998 and there’s always been construction there.

Yeh La could really use the revenue from toll roads. Not sure why they won't do that.

Louisiana has like four 4 level stack interchanges in the entire state. Texas has one every interchange in DFW and Houston.

They also build the highest ramp first so they never have to shut down one when they build a new one. Pretty smart IMO they definitely sleep at holiday inn expresses

Well sacrifices have to be made for infrastructure otherwise you can't have nice things. They afforded it for years before they took the toll down going to [what the frick are they yelling?] Marrero.

Edit: idk why we are so worried about I-10, all they have to do is add a lane or two from Bossier to Monroe and BOOM Silicon Valley South.

Man, this is the truth. Some of the multi-layer interchanges are like driving into a bowl of spaghetti.

You take that exit then that exit has two more exits.

Alabama has been making I20/59 six lanes between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham (about 33 miles of the primary project) and it's been ongoing for 25 years.

How long did it initially take to build the Interstate highway system?

True. A Sam Houston type toll road would never recoup its cost considering a new bridge would have to be built and semis wouldn’t be allowed on it

Yep, so the entire time you’re trying to navigating the bowl of noodles you’re staring at your screen which is even more confused than you are.

Exit 210 North, then take 49E then 429FR West.

What? Haha

If you don’t mind, we’re gonna do a 20 year study in Louisiana to see if expanding the interstate makes sense. Ok. Thanks.

They’ve made it too detailed. Used to just be it would just tell you to get on on highway and you’d follow the road signs. Now it demands you switch lanes every 4 seconds like you’re frickin Ayrton Senna

Too much industry right on the interstate they'd have to pay millions to move in Lake Charles, Westlake, and Sulphur. Conoco in Westlake alone would kill this

There has been almost continuous construction on I10 East of Houston since about 1964 with the exception of a few months here and there throughout the years.
