I wouldn’t believe it unless I saw it myself. My auto insurance went down in Louisiana.

I’ve complained about State Farm but I may have hit some weird insurance niche. Right now my wife and I have two newer vehicles. 2018 Subaru and 2020 Tundra.
We carry 500/500/500 with pretty much everything maxed. $100,000 medpay, rental, $100 deductible for collision and comprehensive.
We started off paying $400. Then we did the drive safe. It went down to $289.00 a month for this coverage. We moved 15 minutes outside Lake Charles last month...my renewal came in for May...
$207/mo for both vehicles. I defy you to find a better rate for this level or coverage.
Never thought I’d ever see it happen in Louisiana. Maybe not all of LA is an insurance nightmare. Maybe only the major cities?

You came here to tell us you're poor? Okay.

I’m okay with being poor.

White privilege finally paying off *high five*

My insurance rate was damn near cut in half when I left Nola.

Instead of 500/500/500 look at 300/300/300 and 1m umbrella. The umbrella will attach at 300 and I bet you net out dang close to neutral

Are you also bundling homeowners with that?

Man. I’m stoked. Today has been a blessing. I am super pumped to finally save some money on this stuff. Insurance has always been so expensive for me here.

Also, if you have health insurance on your family drop the medpay and get the umbrella

I have a policy with it, yes. I’ve also got a $1M umbrella.

Are you being tracked with the State Farm tracking button they want you to put in your car in order to get the best rate?

Good thing enough people weren’t fooled into voting for that Manchurian Candidate bitch Tim Temple.

Recent legislation on med pay and minimum jurisdiction amounts for jury trial apparently paying off already.

I’m sure they will correct this error on your next statement.

No. Friends that are lawyers say keep the medpay. Your health insurance may not pay and if they do, could end up costing you money and it’s cheaper just to carry it. Your auto policy will pay out quick vs your health insurance. And you also won’t have to pay your deductibles if they apply.

I don’t know what any of this means but cost savings for our budget has me pumped. May not be much to some but that’s dirn near $1,000 a year saved.

I emailed my insurance guy the other day and asked about adding my 16 year old to our insurance this May.
He said "I will check in the morning...but get ready, it's going to be bad"
The next day I get an email from him saying "I thought this was a mistake, but it's coming back at $177/mo BEFORE the good grades discount".
That is half of what I was expecting.

Attorneys telling you to keep a line of coverage they can easily scoop up VS being forced to prove negligence. Lol. You have great attorney friends.
Do your thing man.
Just telling you that the med pay is worthless. Any non family member in your vehicle will sue no matter what so why pay $250 per year for $100,000 in med pay when $250 would buy you an additional $1,000,000 in umbrella
