I know you spent 16k on a funeral and sorry for your loss, but $25 and a copay maintains your lifeline. It's your fault for letting that inhaler run out, especially if it is a true rescue inhaler as you described it to be.

The inhaler ran out the day I had the attack. I had a backup inhaler that I tried to find in a panic and couldn’t locate. I have since found it.
Don’t use it often, but when I need it I need it.
Used to be firefighter back in the days of salvage and overhaul without a contained breathing apparatus . Diagnosed with reactive airway disease, but I don’t usually get short of breathe or have an attack unless I’m around smoke or heavy dust.

As someone in healthcare and very familiar with the differences I am incredibly interested to know and understand more about the structure / organization surrounding the urgent care / free standing ER / ER alignment here. Care to share more details?
The EMTALA sign is interesting and most urgent cares prominently display that they are not an urgent care and therefore it doesn’t apply. They do this from a risk mitigation perspective because they aren’t positioned to take care of this level of acuity. Fascinated to hear more.
