You don't say where your car is tagged. If Louisiana, you want to keep that ticket off your record. Hire a lawyer and shell out some serious cash to get a diversion, etc... When I lived there, my rates went through the roof after a ticket.

Oddly enough, the car listed on the ticket must have been one that the trooper stopped previously because I was in a Toyota van and they have it down as a Dodge Challenger and the license plate listed is also incorrect. Is this enough to get off on a technicality?
Just pay it a get on with life. I agree completely that its aggravating but when I get one I simply look at it as a small tax paid for the numerous times I was speeding and did not get a ticket. If everyone fought them they would go away of the fines would be so low everyone would just pay them but its more trouble than its worth unless you have plenty of time and enjoy wrestling with Hawgs...I find the least amount of time I spend interacting with agents of any government body the happier I am....

A ticket is a low level criminal charge directed at the individual, not the vehicle. Like all criminal matters, failure to appear will result in a warrant for your arrest.

Is your name and Drivers License number on the ticket ? If it is , you're busted .

Update: I went to trial today, spoke with the prosecutor and the ticket was dismissed for a "computer error."

I hope you learned a valuable lesson here. A life of crime is not the path to be on.

I learned to never admit guilt and allow the burden of proof to be on the prosecution. I simply told her that I have never driven a 2023 Dodge Challenger.
