I question this because normal people who love their children and value their family don't post on Reddit. The extreme rarity of a true story like this is a distant second in my reasons for suspicion.

I was expecting the update to be like "I remembered I had sex with 4 men early in our marriage, but my husband understands now that it was because I had emotional needs he couldn't fulfill due to his own sexuality and gender exploration during that time, and we're on the road to recovery."

Probably completely made up.

My first thought was why would they get a random paternity test?

How do you know that the kids aren’t theirs if they haven’t gotten a test?

i am not entirely convinced i wasn't switched at birth.

my dad is 5'6, mom is 5'4 and sister 4'11. all 250+ lbs.

i'm just short of 6' and in fairly decent shape. they all are complete nerds and shut-ins and i'm a pretty gregarious guy.

i love them, but everytime we're around them, my wife thinks i should take a paternity test.

They literally tag the kid after it pops out of mom.

Or at least they're supposed to.

Some nurse fuuucccckkkked up, if this is true. I just don't see how it is possible for "switched at birth" to even happen anymore.

Yeah, why would the husband get a paternity test in the first place?

He probably looks like Bill and his daughter probably looks like Webb.

The way this woman wrote this just screams to me ‘I need attention’ and all of her disclaimers lead me to believe she’s one of those blogger types who wants EVERYONE to love them

Just another superficial, self centered woman in America crying out for attention.. what the fricks new

f this were true and by some chance the other family was a good, like-minded family, what's the best solution? Honestly, probably moving close to one or the other and becoming extremely close friends such that you'd either permanently have the biological parents as a major factor in their life or transition at some point? Obviously that only works out well with two sets of wholesome individuals who value the kids above everything else.

This would be the ideal scenario.

Does it ever say what test he took? We’re they doing 23&me and he saw no correlation with his daughter and him so he got tested?

I’m not sure you understand how genetics work. You can get traits from your grandparents

It seems even less likely in the age of camera phones, when a lot of parents are going to have photos of the kid in the first moments of life and each hour thereafter until going home (and beyond). Plenty of newborns look like aliens and it's not definitive, but I can definitely see that my kid at 1 week at home is the same kid on that little heat table or whatever.

Well, if true, that is a bad situation there. I would have zero advice to offer on that other than to pray it gets resolved in the best way possible.

Well, I assume 95% of stories posted on Reddit are BS. So I'm going with OPs story is BS also.

Perhaps, the father started to notice that his 5-year-old daughter looked nothing like him...

Find it hard to believe this considering how hospitals tag the mom and baby to make sure something like this doesn't happen

When our first was born, they were bringing her back from the nursery, nurse was all laughing about a bad poopy diaper.

Wheels this baby over to us.
Umm that's not our baby
What, yeah it is.
No, we had a girl. That's a boy and it's not even our last name on the cart.
Proceeds to take off the babies ankle bracelet instead of admitted she brought the wrong kid.

We threw a fit, got our baby, and we didn't let her out of the room until we left.
