Anything new on this disturbance by the peninsula? Or is it to be ignored?

Yea but the one near the Yucatán meanders around the area for like a week

Forms on oct 26 gets in the gulf next Wednesday then gets pushed south back into the Caribbean and stays there a week in favorable waters, waiting on a door to open to the north

Slack was given an out. He chose to honor his bet, and is serving his sentence with grace. Any attempts to bring him back early would only undermine his noble effort.

Definite tropical core but also a nice front on the east side as well. Interesting looking structure.

BTW: The WCar blob has a 0%/0% from the NHC now. All eyes turn to front watching now. EPS has been doing what it loves, trying to hang energy back over the 4 corners and cut off an upper low. Leaves a big SE ridge in front.

GEFS, as it likes to do, more progressive and gets a good front through South LA by next week.

Unfortunately, I tend to lean to the Euro the La Nina in place. I think the SE ridge will be frustratingly persistent this fall. IMHO.

All I know is that we got just enough hint of Fall last week to let the walnut tree in my backyard know. That means it is helmet season. That, and the knot on my head.

Seems to me that knot on your head was the signal.

That little taste last weekend was such a tease. The bite has been taken out of the heat but we still don't really get below 70 at night through Halloween at this rate down in New Orleans.

What are the terms of Slack's absence? How long is he out for? He didn't pornbomb his way out or anything, right? Wasn't it just an agreement to not post for a period of time or something?

Self ban throughout the remainder of October. It started when Delta fell apart and was off the board.

This is gonna be a hilarious thread Going into Halloween weekend if a hurricane is in the gulf. Even though it’s gonna fizzle out into nothing and get pushed over the mainland Florida. Which would be likely if anything forms. It’s still gonna be hot in the Deep South and gulf over the next 8 days so we will see what happens.
