Some models bring widespread rain across the western gulf coast this weekend.
Look at the radar, Otis. Southwest, and western gulf is getting it now.

Duke, now that August is behind us, etc. When do you see this weather moderating and us drying out for an extended period ?
You see anything with a hint of Fall in anything long range?

Baw, Rummy is gonna wish he didn't wish for rain. Areas around him look to be getting cells that dump 4-5" an hour.

The long range is murky with a super typhoon that will eventually get pulled into the flow. It's hard to know what exactly will come of that.
At some point in September you'd expect that first cold front, even if it doesn't cool things off that much. That would also be when things start really drying out.

I thought about him earlier when I looked at the radar.

How does a super typhoon effect weather in the GOM? I have no clue and I am not trolling. (I assume you mean Hinnamnor, south of Japan).
Appreciate the knowledge from the weather guys.

Some of those reservoirs look low. Hopefully they save it.

Meanwhile, near Okinawa Super Typhoon Hinnamnor is trucking along with winds over 150mph.

A crusty old Marine I knew who spent a few years in Okinawa said those Pacific typhoons were the wildest shite he’d ever seen weather-wise.

I’ve been in Japan during a Typhoon and they treated it like a typical rain storm lol.

I had an uncle who rode out Halsey's 1944 typhoon aboard USS Essex, with blue water running over the flight deck. He saw a lot of action, including kamikaze attacks, and said the typhoon was the most scared he'd ever been.
