Potentially, and where the convection is deepest is where you'd expect it. Closing off a surface low is about the strongest this thing will get.

The explanation above was terrific. Take the time to read it more carefully.

You can't skim it like a comic book. Try again.

Or ask a specific question.

If you could get 100k if you passed the test, you would.

They mentioned it could track offshore, which would just enable it to organize a bit and make the rainfall potentially even worse

You’re taking your life into your own hands by going to New Orleans for any reason in any kind of weather.

The heaviest rain is off shore so the idea that if the L moves northwest that rain would hit SE Texas and SW Louisiana even harder.
85% has remained offshore.

The organization will be tough to come by as the shear coming it will stretch it out. Staying off shore and tapping the gulf longer ups the rainfall potential toward Louisiana coast and points east.

None of this is the near the low.
The low still sits 150 miles south of Texas in the Gulf.
No organization.

Some of the rain reports are 12 inches of rain in the last 7 hours in Bay City, TX.

It's just a lot of rain. Don't drive into flooded roads and you'll be fine.

Right, and it's increasingly less conducive as the upper low out west approaches.

Looks like most of the really heavy shite is moving offshore.

I know, it was a good observation to bring up. Appreciate you mentioning it.

Just noting an open or closed low doesn't matter much at this point. Where the rain ends up does.
