someone is going to have to explain to me the attraction of watching two dipshits in a car ride out a hurricane…are these guys just regular dudes with a camera?
Most of the hurricane chasing doesn't appeal to or interest me, especially a nighttime landfall. I'll watch some remote cams, but I don't get much out of watching windshield wipers going back and forth from inside a vehicle with a nighttime hurricane.
ETA: I much prefer longform, edited hurricane chase videos.

You can’t convey the feeling of being in a hurricane through a camera anyway. There’s no dramatic visuals unless you’re seeing massive surge or crazy wind damage. The most intense hurricane footage I’ve ever seen is just white-out conditions.

I mean... isn't that a good thing
I mean, for the people in Florida I guess. But what about the rest of us who want to be entertained by absolute destruction and mayhem? Did you even think about us?!?! So selfish

Not you but for George
The dead will suggest otherwise. What's the deal with people like this?

Go find James Reynolds's and/or Josh Morgerman's Super Typhoon Haiyan chase videos. Those guys rode out one of the most powerful and deadliest typhoons in history with barely a word spoken.

Blame the media who hyped it up to be something it wouldn’t. Be glad they’re laughing instead of in awe or horror.

Probably my "favorite" ever.
This and Josh Morgerman's Dorian video are the best/worst I've seen.

was talking about this yesterday and got jumped on yes I know that there’s been severe impacts already and my heart goes out to those folks - and it’s not over, but early on it looks like the worst case scenario has been avoided
To be fair, you were jumped on by others for saying that the evacuations for Milton were an overreaction to the impacts of Helene in NC.
It’s still a ridiculous statement.

Sorry. Was it 4th? Maybe it was the second fastest to sub 900mb. My bad. Definitely changes things.

That's not even remotely accurate. When media plays up stuff for views people remember it. Boy that cries wolf.
Second strongest storm in history lol. Days ago when they said that 5 minutes of research showed that was bullshite.

You can see the wobble that saved Tampa here. That rightward shift above the Yucatan moved the landfall from Clearwater to Sarasota. Otherwise they’d have 12’ of surge in the bay right now.
