October WCAB cyclones either get swept northeast into Florida or move northward and entrain drier air into the circulation. I don't believe a cat 3 or higher has ever hit the Louisiana coast in October.

I was cursing at Carl Arredondo like an angry Arab cab driver the other night for this reason.

I SPIT AT YOU CARL. I SPIT AT YOUR FAMILY.

I WILL NOT ACCEPT HOT WEATHER UNTIL MID OCTOBER.

00z indivdiual models are all over the place with a spread from Louisiana to Florida with the eastern solutions also showing a tendency to curve back west. The NHC has highlighted the area in the WCAB and tagged it at 20%.

The 00z Euro EPS has a number of members that track into the Gulf and the mean is well west of the operational. However, the mean is skewed a bit by some really deep members in the Gulf.

Heading to USVI this Friday to Monday, how will you think this will be affected? Should return flight be ok or I’ll end up stranded?

It seems that there is a very wide range of possibilites regarding intensity and track of any possibly developing system. rds: How long do you think things will come into better focus? It does seem that climatology would suggest that whatever comes out of that general location would more likely affect Florida and points east. And whatever comes of it would not be significantly strong. Also, from what I understand it would have to hit a narrow sweet spot to find favorable/low shear conditions all across the region, am I right?

Man, I would settle for just some lows in the low 60's. September was so damn hot.
Is there anything at all in the long range forecast that shows us getting a cool front in the next two weeks?

How TF did we not have one solitary cool front for the entire month of Sept?

Don't think there's anything definite.

I'm gonna hire a beautiful scantily clad young woman to come over with a 50 lb block of ice and a giant palm frond to keep me cool.

We had a couple in North La. It was in the eighties for a day or two last week.
