I like how these dudes acted like they just invented fire. I thought this was something that most people knew.

Things like this are why women live longer than we do.

What was that second guy pouring into the tire?

Dude's probably going to have some critters camping with him now.

We dented in a panel on a rented 4Runner on a ski trip
Tried the boiling water trick after a few other methods
It worked
We celebrated exactly like we invented fire

Had an old timer do the first one to a tire once before.
It was on the rear tire of a Harley Davidson. The new tire had been stored so long, the beads were pinched together by the tape wrapped around it.
We struggled with it, used a tie strap around it to flare out the beads, etc. we struggled with it for an hour and all the time an old timer kept saying “whenever you want me to show you how it’s done you let me know.”
Finally everyone else was at the end of their rope and told him to try it.
He grabbed a can of starting fluid sprayed a healthy dose in it while the rest of us headed for the open garage door. He lit a paper towel and threw it toward the tire and “PHOOOMP!” The tire shot right onto the bead and was ready for air and install.
I’ll never forget that.

Looked like cheap motor oil from Dollar General.

We mounted semi and tractor tires like this frequently on the farm. If you don't go crazy with the starting fluid, it is a quick and safe way to seat a bead.
However tire bead blaster tools are easily available now so that is probably the safer route. Back then only tire shops had those, but you can get them fairly cheap now online.
