How many times have you used the front tow hooks on your vehicle?

Toyota caught a lot of flack for omitting them from the new Tundra. Looking back on the 5 trucks that I have driven with them I can’t recall when they were ever used. Maybe a couple of times? Now admittedly they weren’t red so they would have barely worked.

Cheap insurance sure but how much are they actually used?

I've used them - mI'm not sure I'd want a pickup that didn't have them. This is just another reason I'm staying away from the new Tundra.

Never so far but I like knowing they are there for just in case.

Eta: Have used those on my friends truck when pulling his ford out though.

As they should. It's a glaring omission on their off road model. Probably just trying to save a few bucks.

I've used them 3 times in the last 2 months to pull 4 wheelers of out the mud at the farm.

You get a little rain and damn teenagers start thinking a damn 4 wheeler weighs 50 lbs.

About half the times I needed 4wd in my truck!

I still would not buy a truck without either.

The new Tundra doesn't have tow hooks from the factory?

Why?

every time it needed to be towed, which for me, was never in 45 years so far.

but you can also ask how many times people actually use their trucks as trucks and not as pavement princesses

the vast majority of trucks today rarely get used as intended

I think the domestic manufacturers put them on all 4wd models and some 2wd models. Pretty sure the previous generation Tundra had one under the bumper.

I use them to let people know I drive a Trail Boss.

I AM THE TRAIL BOSS

I’m also 40 and listen to rap music in my truck.

The whole front of the truck looks horrific. They cleaned it up a bit for the new Sequoia though.

And wear Tommy Bahama on vacation with the top two buttons undone. And flirt in an overly-aggressive and borderline creepy way with younger women while talking loudly an drinking too much.

Dude.....that thing is really ugly and extremely over-styled.

I do like the TOYOTA font on the front grill though.

Supposedly the new Tundra doesn't have front tow hooks because it has an active front air dam that goes up and down. It's part of what they are doing to increase mpg and not because they are being cheap by not adding tow hooks.

Take that for what's its worth on why they couldn't add tow hooks.
