I'm not on them but if that's how somebody wants to lose weight then go for it
Some folks are just assholes about other people having weight issues, and I think you're right. Since they do not have that problem, they feel mighty superior to those who do. You can see it in the responses.
All that said, I do not advise people to take those shots. Studies like the ones mentioned in this article indicate that you lose too much muscle mass on the shots, and not all of the muscle is skeletal muscle. Some of it is organ mass. One of the studies mentioned estimated that almost 40% of the weight you lose is muscle. And some of the studies I've seen indicate that you're unlikely to recover that muscle.

Just like anything in medicine, there are studies that minimize the risks as well...I personally tend to believe the ones that are critical of the drugs and tend to not have as much faith in the ones that minimize negative effects, due to the fact that Big Pharma funds so many of the studies.
I also have anecdotal evidence that the effectiveness of the drug tapers off over time. I have a buddy who lost probably 65-70 lbs on some form of Semiglutide about a year, year and a half ago, and now he's back up to only being 10 pounds down overall. Gained the vast majority of it back, never stopped taking the shots. And he lost a lot of muscle...when he was down at his lowest weight you could really see it. Which means he has a higher adipose to lean body mass ratio now than he did when he started taking the shots.

No. Stupid lazy fat people annoy me
The health risks you’re taking by using that shite are enormous just because you can’t bear the thought of diet and exercise

You need 4 fricking months to convince yourself to lose weight? Or you just don’t want to commit to it during football season.

Nope. I do a program called optavia. No shots, just calorie management and eating healthier.
Back during the pandemic i was 345, and lost to 175ish. Gained back to 270 by stupidity, but started at 270.2 on 8/4 and I'm at 249.2 today.

No you implied i was either lying or really really fat, which i was not this time. Big certainly, but not really really fat, nor was i being untruthful.
When i was 345 i was really really fat

So to be truthful I didn't read all 9 pages of this thread. I'm sure there are tons of folks here making judgement about why you should or shouldn't do the weight loss shots or pills.
Here's my story... HS athlete, 5% body fat kind of guy that couldn't gain weight if I wanted to back in the day. Graduated at 5'8" 140ish and ripped. Freshman year of college was able to finally start to put on some muscle but nothing real bulky. Had a bad ankle injury soph year of college and from that point on my metabolism began to change... not real noticable until I got out of college though.
By the time I was 25 and started coaching (and began to deal with stress) I started putting on weight in my gut) never really gained weight anywhere else... just started getting the "beer belly". Since then I've always carried my weight there and it's gotten harder and harder to lose even with diet and exercise as I've gotten older. This year when the clock hit 50 I realized I had to have some help getting started down a healtier path. Went to the Dr. and got some blood work done and we decided on the pill. I'm taking something similar to adipex but for people who have had a heart condition in the past. Also a suppressant that makes carbonated drinks taste afwul which has really helped me kick my cravings for cokes.
I'm exactly a month in today and down 24 lbs. At 5'8" I've gone from 250
to 226. I can't tell you how much better it feels.
As someone who lives an active lifestyle and just got too far away from exercise and weights to get back into it, I finally feel like I can get going down that road again without being in agony. The pills aren't the plan forever. They are just a 2-3 month plan to get enough weight off to help me get going down a better, healthier path.
I'm eathing less, feeling better, and my wife and kids aren't embarassed to go out in public with the fat boy any more.
So judge me if you want to, but they have helped me get started down a healthier path.
Yeah, I did it to my self, but I'm trying to undo the mess while I still can.

You shouldn't even consider those shots unless you're morbidly obese on the verge of death. Those things have crazy side effects. Namely it eats all your healthy fat and muscle deposits and leaves you looking malnourished.

Trizepatide. 50lbs since late March. 2 pant sizes down. Got back into mountain biking. Probably Richard Long 12plus now.

Why are you so argumentative?
Metabolism does slow as people age. Modern American society just has the additional problems of plentiful food and sedentary lifestyle/lack of physical work.

5-10% a decade. About 100 calories over 50 years

I’m just telling you what the data says. You can feel however you want, you just look like a dumbass while doing so
Very, very simple solution: don’t say dumbass shite that isn’t true
