I didn’t have a set number in mind when I was younger. I figured I’d start with one & see how it goes. Unfortunately, I didn’t have him til I was old. If I were younger, I’d have a few. I love being a parent. I’m super grateful to have him & a 12 year old stepdaughter.

Their age difference is about the same as ours but we have 2 girls.

if they're not well behaved, you should evaluate the parenting

Wanted 3-4 ended up with only 1. But it’s a boy and I’m grateful.

The reason we don’t have 4 kids is because we have 3.

reads like another lazy parent that lets their kid(s) run the house.

Wanted 3 for some dumb reason. After 1 I reluctantly had a 2nd. To hell with having a 3rd.

I’m bummed they won’t really grow up together, but it does make things easy to manage.

True.

My step daughter moved out of the house when my daughter was like 7. Oddly enough, they've become close in the past few years since the younger one is a bit older now.

This is an interesting thread since it’s mostly guys answering

When I was a little girl I always wanted 10, then after babysitting, teaching dance, and working at a children’s hospital I wanted 0.

Before we got married - I told my husband I don’t care how many we have but I either want 0 or a lot.

We have 6

Take advantage of the built-in babysitter while you can. It'll get more difficult when she's in HS and has a social life.

I thought 6. My wife wanted 0. We went 1 and done! I don’t know how people have the time or money for more than 2 kids.

Before marriage, never really “wanted” kids per say. After I got married, we wanted 2 or maybe 3. Ended up with 2. We could afford a third kid but it would have been tight. With 2, we can do more and save for the anticipated cost of college for both now. With a third, that would not happen
