how much did you spend on parts?
Never a single major issue. At most, 2-3 minor issues.

Outside of routine maintenance of course, I'd bet I spent less than $1k over that 15 or so year span on unexpected things breaking. Honestly, probably less than $500.

7 cars (including one I inherited from my dad), age 55.

Best one was a 2004 Honda Accord, bought it with 51 miles and kept it until it had over 270,000.

I'm 53, have owned some interesting/terrible vehicles depending upon your outlook.

Me, myself, 3
'78 AMC
'87 Ford Tempo--very comfortable car, very awful-running PoS
'94 Ranger XLT, still own it, and would drive it, but it needs to be repaired. Driving my mother around in her 2010 Odyssey.

Me and wife:
'90 Civic-great car. Guy hit me from behind doing 45 on I-10. Huge loss for us in 1998
'97 626-another really good car
'05 Camry-passed on to son in 2013
'09 Accord, son drives this one, now, younger son drove '05 Camry until last summer
'17 Camry after passing Accord to son.

24 and I've owned one...

I plan to drive it until I have a kid and then I'm going to park it in a field and give it to them for their birthday at 16.
