Ours is terrible but its getting better.
Saw this at one local Florida School.

Traffic Tip Tuesday
There is an on-going issue regarding student drop-off lines in our school zones. Parents are stopping within 750 feet from the school to allow students out of the vehicle to walk the rest of the way.
This allows said parents the opportunity to avoid having to remain in the drop-off line as directed. Although this may be convenient for that specific parent, it is creating a safety issue for the parents and students following directions. This act also backs up traffic.
This act is a violation of Hernando County Ordinance Section 20-40 (a) (14).
Vehicles dropping off students are not to stop their vehicles within 750 feet from the entrance of the school during the following periods:
1- From one (1) hour prior to the start of a school session to one (1) hour after the start of a school session
2- From two (2) hours prior to the conclusion of a school session to one (1) hour after the conclusion of a school session.
Any individual violating this County Ordinance shall be deemed to be charged with a noncriminal violation and shall be assessed a civil penalty of fifty dollars ($50.00).
The safety of our students and motorists are a high priority. Please follow instructions while dropping of your children in the drop-off line. This will avoid any road safety hazards and/or potential injuries.

My kids walk from for breakfast table to our classroom
Once in a while someone will trip one of the little kids on purpose
But that’s about it

if you live within 2 miles you don't get bus service. Years ago they did give bus service for those within 2 miles and the car loops were still long.

Bus isn't offered to us since we live so close. It's too far for a 6 year old to walk though. The walkers/bikers enter through a gate at the front of the school. The drop off line passes right by the gate. Sometimes parents get rushed and just let the kids out in the road. Since the line is on the shoulder and you have thru traffic always passing, I think it could be considered dangerous. there's a park a block away. Just go park there and let your kids walk.

Ours is insane. Because we have a bus driver shortage in the district several more parents are driving their kids but because of COVID not carpooling (which always reduced the line in the past).
We’re working with the city right now to try to switch streetlight timing and all kinds of shite to help. Even talked about a satellite drop off (we’re downtown) and using the activity bus to shuttle kids. Keep in mind we have about 2,000 kids in our school and have an urban location with a tiny parking lot.

I hope your kids’ teacher isn’t one of the OT’s “notable” teachers.
You’d have to rename your school something Bama-related to reflect this condition.
RTR Home School & Funhouse?

Ours is orderly and manageable. The teachers are super nice and the cross-guards are professional. No complaints. I love caring for my grandkids.

My boys ride the bus.
My oldest son will start driving sometime this year if he keeps his butt out of trouble. When that happens he will drop his brother off at the elementary school who will ride a transfer bus to the middle school across the river into the next little town.
We live in a small town on Neely Henry Lake (Coosa River) we share schools with another small town across that lake. Each town has an elementary school, 6-8 they all go to the middle school across the lake then back to our town in high school.
