Just curious how you younger and older single folks delt with the lockdown. I know it made it harder for me. No bars, less social events, and people less willing to actually go on a date or come over. Dating apps had a bump in usage but a survey I saw it still resulted in less meetups than before.

This has been my experience. Just end up with a lot of penpal situations.

I'm married. Has made it harder for us to go out and do shite. Date night is hard to come by when you got toddlers n shite.

Sounds like you single baws just having to make strategic strikes on dating apps to slay poon. Glad this shite didn't happen 20 years ago. I'd be up a creek!

Married women have had to get a lot more creative to meet up with Jody. Going to the gym was just so convenient.

That is us pretty much. We have a few neighbors with kids similar age and we’ve started a sort of baby sitting network going amongst us.

The single people I know pretty much never stopped going out. It is all about choice.

No impact. My wife's been practicing social distancing for years.

Dating apps are a poor reflection of reality I’m finding regardless of COVID. There are a few issues I’ve seen:

Both sexes are gunning for the same couple of “hot” profiles. You have a 1000 people trying to meet the same couple of “dateable” profiles.

People just want the likes and have no intention of talking/meeting.

People there just to get followers on social media.

Mismatches due to lifestyle compatibility. My example with this would be that I stand to benefit very little from dating a woman that has several children and a poor relationship with baby daddies, but that’s the majority of the country so it’s also a majority of the online dating pool.

The vastness of selection is much larger online than in person so it creates even more compatibility issues. The example here is that you end up talking to people that you never even would have considered talking to in person because of the ease of access. A majority of these people you would have never came across because your typical lifestyle would have prevented it.

Anyhow, being divorced in my late 30s has not been kind to me, but I also understand that literally everyone else my age is basically having the same online experience.

For reference I have a gross face but am fit, make great money, and have no children which should still make me an ideal candidate. I don’t worry about it though, and it’s still fun to swipe around.
