How does covid mutate to be vaccine resistant, but doesn't become test resistant?

I'm not a rocket scientist but I don't think the tests put the virus at risk.

Tests look for the main gene in Covid. When mutations occur it happens on the exterior spike proteins which allows the test to still react with the main gene.

Like the other poster stated, the mutations occur because the virus itself is trying to survive.

The virus doesnt try anything. It has no intelligence. Its simply survival of the fittest and ultimately the most contagious version dominates

Not necessarily the one most vaccine resistant since only like 10-20% of the planet is vaxxed
