I have them starting to complain on social media about how hard their job is. That's a first for me at least

Most of the Docs, if they walk in the pt’s room, will see the pt once for less than five minutes....
But will bill the insurance $10,000 for walking into the room.
While it’s not that bad, it’s still absurdly bad. When I was in the hospital back in 2016 every time a doctor walked into my room they billed my insurance something like $275 (I can’t remember the exact amount but it was crazy). I remember one morning I had like 5 doctors come though, none stayed more than 3-5 minutes but each billed my insurance somewhere around $275.
I spent 31 days in there and the total they submitted to insurance was in the seven figure ballpark. BC/BS paid them like $300,000 and some change.

As my wife says when I express my feelings on their self importance, “This is just their time to shine and they’re excited about it.”
Apparently they do it through complaining and threatening people to stay home.

It's all over the fricking place.
It’s literally not. But if it is please link me to the weeks long media praise for utility workers, store stock clerks, and mailmen.

Yout thinking those are facts is sexist though.
I don’t think they’re facts. They are just facts.

I see stuff like that every day. Get better friends if you don't.

Agreed.
While they’re fortunate to have a job, let’s not kid ourselves it’s a fun job. And, there are absolutely risks......real risks they could bring home.
But, I’m also not pissed I’m not getting a stimulus check as I am very fortunate and hope those people find benefit in those checks.

Good looking nurses have great personalities. They're funny and outgoing. The homely ones have a chip on their shoulders about the cute ones getting all the attention.
I’ve dealt with a lot of nurses. Two of them stood out to me more than the other. One was a tiny (like maybe 5’ at best) with short purple hair who looked like she was in high school. She saved my life and even stayed well past her shift was over to be my charge nurse and make sure I was ok. The other was about a month away from retirement. She had the best bedside manner. My wife says I liked her because she “momma-ed” me. I can’t really argue with her about that.

Most of the ones I know at least are young and healthy, are having steady work throughout this tough time, getting paid up to $900 a month extra for hazard pay
Where do the ones you know work? I don’t know any that are getting hazard pay.
It sounds like you are envious or jealous. I hope I don’t get that way about others, but I know it can happen to me, too, if I let it.

I agree with the hero bit, but tired of hearing about it

Why don’t they deserve any attention? I’d rather recognize them than the celebrity idiots that that don’t do anything to contribute to society and are always the topic of news stories.

Did you guys ever look into those helmet bipaps? Apparently we are trying to order them at my place
Never did. We did get those filtered bipap expiratory valve circuits though. We’ve been putting pt’s on Bipap more often now, and extubating some to it...

You’re not at Oschner Westbank huh?
The therapist at the old Murdercrest had to use walkie talkies as well.. I did a few agency gigs over there, back in the 90s, and thought that was the weirdest thing ever...

I don’t get any of this. All the free lunches/ dinners, parades, police with the blue lights in the parking lot etc. Am I correct that they are just doing their job that they were trained for and being paid well for it. A pandemic like this is always a possibility as well as other mass casualty situations. I feel like the hospitals have done a poor job preparing themselves for situations like this. I also feel like this has been blown way out of proportion
Posted on 4/19/20 at 10:35 am to floyd of pink
Yep...
We should hate on the military personnel as well for the recognition they receive. They signed up and trained for it. After all, they too are merely doing thier job.
