I'm surprised the OT doesn't already know.

Where exactly was that house?

Just looked it up. Grand Lake in Cameron Parish.

Anyone have aerial photos of Grand Lake?

What’s the backstory on this for those of us who missed it?

If he was in grand lake that house is almost for sure completely destroyed. What a dumb arse for putting up those hay bales which I am sure did absolutely nothing to stop the massive storm surge and 150mph wind.

I was thinking. Its kind of a good idea for blocking wind. Imagine if you had pilings in your yard you could drop them on from a crane. Just need to core out the center.

Hell and hooey about hay bale results, real inquiring minds want to know what happened with the whole-house-strap guy. Did it work?

The first half of that is not Grand Lake. That radar dome is Fed owned in Lake Charles. I'm pretty sure those mobile homes and travel trailers are on Highway 14 just a few miles of there.

What storm surge in Grand Lake? the link above shows horses in pastures that would have rain water on them like a tropical storm and not far at all from a hunting lease and duck blind I had in the 90's.
