How come disasters don’t make national news like in years past?

Years ago, CNN, FOX News would be the go to channel for events like the oil refinery explosion. I turn on those channels and it’s fricking politics and talk show hosts cramming their political beliefs down our throats. Just report the damn news!

Not like we’d even notice. Gas is up more than a dollar here since Joe Biden was placed in the role of President.

It’s gone up every day for 3 months. But yeah one event in a country that doesn’t impact our oil supply is why the price will go up next week.

I'm not defending Biden but I'm pretty sure gas prices are the same as they were pre-covid. Trump didn't make the gas cheap...covid restrictions and people not doing shite but sitting in their homes made gas cheap. The more Covid restrictions are lifted and "Normalcy" returns....the more gas prices will rise.
Seems logical to me

I swear to God... I want to watch my LOCAL News. I want to know what is going on LOCALLY where I live.
Now, the fricking LOCAL News is 85% National bullshite news about Politics, Blacks, Asians, Gays, Lesbians, Trans, OMB, bla bla bla - Just complete fricking shite.
Now, the first 15 minutes is a fricking national talking point segment reading headlines off Drudge.
Then a weather report (but we'll let you know how the rest of the week looks later in the broadcast
Then about 3 minutes of local News
Then the long drawn out weather report
Then some other bullshite national segment
Then National sports
I give up.

You answered your question. All they ever care about is politics. At some point it started with Fox but CNN would still cover some other news especially big events. They followed and now that’s all either channel cares about.
