House Building Contractor - BR Area

I am looking to add a detached pool house which would tie-in to my existing house roof. Already have the layout done. Looking for recommendations on a building contractors in the Baton Rouge area. Any names?

I know DSLD and DRH are both home builders, wonder if they would mess with something this small.

I doubt they would mess with that. Probably a small GC or remodeler. I know a great guy in Lafayette for this type of project. I'll check to see if he's still contracting.

B&G Construction, behind Parkview Baptist, rebuilt half of my house last year after a fire. They did an excellent job. They do a lot of restoration for insurance claims, but they also do some new construction and remodels like you're looking for. They tied into my existing roof and came off with an 8x12 walk in closet while everything was torn apart. I don't think they'd be the cheapest, but they do everything right. Barry Jenkins, the owner, is the nicest guy you'd ever meet. He's been in the business a very long time.

A tree fell on my other house about 15 years ago and Barry did the restoration. Totally forgot about him. Thanks for the reminder.

Tell him Jason B in New Roads sent you. He'll know me. They're doing a small job for my mother in law right now. The other guy that works with him is named Tom. Can't think of his last name, but he's just as nice as Barry. The good thing about them is you know they aren't screwing you over. They are real honest folks and will do whatever it takes to make you happy. Good luck!

Sending a shout out to mark the thread. I am going to need something similar in the next few months. Covered back patio tied in to the existing roof. After the contractor I used on my current house ended up in jail (yet somehow kept his license), honesty is my #1 issue for future work.
