Hotel towels…
Posted by CincinnatiTiger on 5/25/22 at 11:25 am222
Why do these rough bitches absorb water so much better than the expensive Turkish towels my wife buys at home?
Is it the constant washing, the jizz or what??

There is an episode of Curb your Enthusiasm where this is explained.

If you use fabric softener it is probably that.

I've always found hotel towels to be terrible.

Sand absorbs water better than polyester does.

Tell the Mrs. to buy 100% cotton, thick towels. Plastic towel don't absorb efficiently.

100%. I've tried telling my wife the same thing. The expensive towels just push the fricking water around.

This. Fabric softener coats the fibers and makes them less absorbent.

That’s a big part of it. We over treat the heck out of our laundry, imo. My laundry gets a pod of Tide, that’s it. No fabric softener, dryer sheets, etc.
ETA: I don’t use the 3-in-1 pods with fabric softener in them. Just the ones with detergent only.

I like the mystery stains on hotel towels.

the turkish towels absorb more the more you wash them. took about 10 washings for mine to absorb well.

For me it’s because I use them up north and I’m actually dry after one pass with the towel unlike in south La!

Never do I feel cleaner than after a hotel shower.

Jahr remember the next time you’re drying your face with a hotel towel, at some point that same towel was used to dry the arse crack of some dude, maybe even me.

They sure aren't worth accidentally putting in your suitcase like they were 50 years ago.

I’ve had a working theory for a while that expensive towels come pre-coated with a smoothing/softening agent, which takes a while to fully wash off.
