My stupid dog is fantastic at barking at neighborhood kids and the mailman. He really sucks at anything that might be an actual threat. Mb he's just a big pussy.

he would have to make some sort of threat whether physical or verbal first before you can take action.
Walking in your yard 1:30am with a gun constitutes some sort of threat regardless of physical or verbal. IMHO

You're wrong. Let's say you go to shoot and get turns around and you hit him in the back. Guess what, in LA, charges would be brought against you

a floodlight scared him so bad, he forgot he came on a bike? He must be new.

These hoodrats are “raised” by their grandmothers.

Live in Zachary too and had somebody ringing doorbells in our neighborhood in the middle of the night on multiple homes.
Crime can’t be escaped in Louisiana it seems.

I don't know if it's been stated or not in this thread, but that bike is likely stolen from someone in your neighborhood. Might want to reach out on Facebook/Nextdoor.
I had similar thing happen to me a few years ago (minus gun). Perp got spooked and ditched bicycle and other stolen items from several neighbors. Got on the Nextdoor, posted, and got enough people checking their camera footage that EBR was able to identify the perps. Turned out to be 13 and 14 yr olds from middle class neighborhood.

Correct. It will turn into its own version of New Orleans.

They left a Bike in my Yard (was 2 of them). Called ZPD and officer said they didn't really commit a crime so they would write a report. I asked him if he wanted to take the bike to dust for prints. He said no they can't issue prints to the crime lab unless a felony is committed. He left the bike in my yard.
Trespassing waking down your driveway with a gun partially drawn doesn’t qualify to issue prints? Doubt they could make anything stick by itself, but gun would make it something they should want to look more into and document including running fingerprints. What if prints lead to other things or help remove gun if print is known in system with person being a felon or being underage. Taking bike might also help them get it back to a kid or be able to donate to another if it is never claimed.
Instead it’s just wait until this person injures or kills someone who just happens to be going outside to get something at same time. My wife goes and gets stuff from car late at night at times. I sometimes go take dog out front late when he needs to go to bathroom as does my kid (who started the dog having weird hours), and I am sure our dog’s reaction would have this guy firing the gun he already has drawn unless it’s fake.

It just occurred to me that your house may be the one that looks like an overgrown meth house. The house on the even-numbered side and everywhere else on the street seems to have a nicely manicured yard.
Unless you’ve cleaned things up a bit, the guy could’ve been startled by the light because he was surprised to see electricity.
And what’s all that shite in your backyard? Seriously, from a bird’s eye, your house looks like a meth house.

I have a yard guy that cuts my yard every Friday. You think a guy that owns a gun and thermal that cost 5K is going to have an overgrown meth house. fricking retard.

I keep that one in the safe most of the time. My bedside go to's are a CZ Scorpion SBR and my Glock 19. There isn't anything on those that would rustle jimmies other than 124 gr copper jacketed rounds.

Just my take, blast him, rip out the camera and destroy it, then hide the pieces, take his shoe, make a good print on the door with it. Tell them it was an attempted break in. Periodically fire your weapon as if it's an active shootout, tell the cops it all happened so fast, you just went into protection mode and want a lawyer.

Anyone contemplating gun control should take a good, hard look at that picture.
Police aren't gonna get there in time to save you at 1AM when that guy shows up at your door.
In new orleans a dude was shot when a guy going around looking for his stolen packages tried to push his way through the door, home owner blocked him and was shot 4 times. The police arent saving your arse when some hood bitch comes to your door and shoots you.
