caught that in my driveway I'm thinking about my wife and two little kids. I'm trying to protect them first and foremost

Call the police and tell them you aren't in any danger but the piece of shite outside about to break in is in a whole world of shite. Theyll have the whole PD there in no time.

Done it before. I was amazed. They aren't coming because you see someone outside. Tell them you see someone outside and you're armed, calvary is coming.

Wait, he thought you had your name on the lower receiver?

Jesus.

Today I learned my name is Palmetto State Armory.

if someone is trespassing on your property and brandishing firearm, aren’t you within your rights to shoot them?

No you are not, which is part of the problem. If he points the gun at you it is different, but if he’s just carrying it, I don’t think so. It should be legal to kill, though.

And if you exit your house and approach him while armed, and then shoot him after he threatens you, you are probably getting charged with murder.

The justice system is very fricked up and the street trash knows it. They KNOW you aren't going to approach them. They know you'll call the cops, who will take an hour to show up, and will not pursue beyond that. He skates off with your shite and comes back for more later if he wants and the cycle repeats.

It's very fricked up.

Not deflection. I’m just always looking for answers when unusual things happen. An armed man coming up your driveway in the middle of the night is definitely unusual.

Why would he do that?
Occam’s Razor - Looking to steal.

Why’d he choose THAT house?
Owner is obviously well-versed in self-defense. No mention of valuables in plain sight.

Security lights scared guy away, so he’s not looking for a fight.

This perp was trespassing with a gun, and the cops were so apathetic that they didn’t file a report? That doesn’t match my experiences with police, so I go looking for answers.

It makes me wonder in what way were my circumstances different than OP? Did OP say something off putting to the police? Maybe they’re just apathetic to reports coming from meth houses? Maybe all Zachary police are lazy? Maybe I’ve been lucky and always gotten good cops to deal with. I don’t know.

I never said they didn't file a report. They filed an unusual occurrence report.

Would be pretty sweet if you could electrify it. Kind of like those Trump signs that were getting stolen. Those videos were the best.
