BATON ROUGE - Emergency crews are responding to multiple reported shootings Wednesday morning off of Winbourne Ave.

The first incident was reported in the 3400 block of Eaton St.

Officials say at least one person was shot and transported from the scene to a nearby hospital.

Authorities are also responding to a second reported shooting in the 3100 block of Mission Dr.

Given who was involved, these were likely late night shootings before bed rather than early morning shootings.

Don’t be shocked this happens so close to Christmas. It’s because of Christmas parties this shite happens.

Dates don’t matter. Last year a teenager was shot early Christmas Eve morning.

off of Winbourne Ave

I'd be willing to bet there are gunshots on a daily basis in this area now.

My great aunt lived off of Winbourne until she died in the mid/late 90s and it was ghetto as hell back then. She'd just lived there since the 1940s and refused to move.

I know why and how she was elected..... I just don’t get it. She has done literally nothing for the people that voted for her. Arguably, life is worse for many of her constituents. I swear I just don’t get it.

Probably because of the food deserts. Publix/Kroger are at fault here.

She greased the right palms on one side and was seen as pro-business by another side because she wasn’t hostile to the groups who had all kinds of unnecessary “improvement” projects to profit off of.
