HAMMOND, La. — A Hammond woman remained jailed on Wednesday, faces an $18 million bond after allegedly ordering thousands of dollars of food and merchandise through Doordash using her elderly aunt's debit card.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, 31-year-old Maili Morris was booked into the parish jail on 816 criminal counts, including 136 counts each of Identity theft, bank fraud, computer fraud, felony theft, access device fraud, and exploitation of the infirmed.
Chief Jimmy Travis said Morris was arrested on Feb. 16, following a lengthy investigation of financial crimes against the elderly. Morris is accused of ordering $12,000 worth of food and items from Hammond locations between Nov. 2022 and Jan. 2023.

$22,500 bond per charge?
She made 136 orders & is being charged with 6 crimes on each order. Seems a bit much.

Probably making an example out of her, for whatever reason, and charging the max bond for each of the 800+ charges.

Guilty. Bond has been increased to 180,000,000

By the looks of it, she's 100% guilty.

Have to throw an occasional poor person into the meat grinder so they can pretend they are doing something.

Those teenage thugs that dragged that poor woman to death carjacking her, didn't have an 18 million dollar bond..

They are clearly making an example out of her because the Chief Deputy is running for Sheriff. Trying to make a name for himself.
These charges won't stick in court. Murderers and rapists get lesser bonds.

Probably added the standard bond amount to every single charge.

Now that I see her skin color, it makes sense.

TPSO must have not found any prostitutes in Natalbany to bust. They needed something to put out to the press.
I wonder if Ken Benitez was on the scene with his milk crate.

Jimmy Travis is going to be another Daniel Edwards. Anybody but him for Sherriff.
