Hammond Daily Star: La. State Police can't help NOPD with I-10 shooters

Hammond Daily Star reporter HL Arledge from June 24, 2022
"In April, the New Orleans Police Department’s Director of Communications asked me to stop referring to Interstate 10 shooters as serial snipers, and I have complied."
"Two weeks ago, on a Tuesday morning, a commuter from New Orleans East pulled his work van onto I-10 headed westbound. Between the exits of Read and Crowder boulevards, two pickup trucks without license plates blocked the lanes in front of him and decelerated.
One of the two eased into the left lane and slowed more, dropping beside the work van, while his confederate in the truck directly ahead of the commuter reduced speed to 10 miles per hour.
The commuter looked at the driver beside him as if to ask what was going on. Then, without answering, the driver, a man the commuter in the work van did not know, raised a handgun and opened fire.

New Orleans is a defeated city.

I know the article is behind a firewall but if you hit the stop button while reloading it the entire article will come up. It is a must read for anyone who lives in the area because it is the first account of just how bad it is and how there is no functioning police department for all respective purposes.
Those were just a few snippets from this very well done article by the Hammond Daily Star. Why aren't WWL-TV, FOX-8, WGNO, WDSU, NOLA, NOLA City Business, etc. covering this? WTF are you guys!

I believe it has been that way for a while.
When Marc Morial was mayor he was on WWL radio and a caller was complaining about a ticket he got on the I10 near the Franklin exit. He told the caller that if it happened on the interstate NOPD didn't write the ticket.

The interstate is three lanes wide with shoulders on side between Crowder and Read that are semi-freqeuntly used as additional passing lanes by assholes going 90 or 100mph. Why didn't the commuter just pass on the right? Especially when it became apparent the two vehicles were working together to slow him down. I can't imagine slowing down 10mph, or even 35 or 40) without having someone rear end you. The speed limit is 60, but the flow of traffic is about 70 or 75.

Well, why can’t SP help on I-10?
Was that anywhere in the article?

If LSP had 10 units working in 2 unit tandems throughout Metairie and NOLA, they could make 20 warrant arrests a day just making traffic stops for the most egregious. There are cars coming off of 610 westbound going 100+ constantly, passing on shoulder, etc.
If that idiot JBE did anything worthwhile, he could tell Latoya frick your home rule and your consent decree, we own the interstates, and we're here and will chase you to hell.

New Orleans is toast. A serial killer on the interstate and they can't do a thing about it. Not to mention, the media keeping it hidden. Despicable

This sounds like they need FBI in there pronto. WTF is going on!

84 shootings in a little over 900 days,it would be very difficult to catch the shooter.
Only way I could imagine is if the military would put a drone over the interstate on overwatch.
