Any OTers live or have lived in the area? I lived in De Cordova Bend when I was around 11 years old. Beautiful area, great schools, wonderful memories overall. This was in the late’70’s. Is the area still a very desirable place to live?

I used to know a really hot girl from there. She started dating a minor league baseball player and never talked to me again.

My wife and I moved to Granbury from Dallas about four months ago, to the Harbor Lakes area (newer than the DeCordova area). We looked at several houses in the Pecan Plantation Subdivision, but felt that area was too far out. Home prices here are reasonable.

We're both retired. We live on the 15th tee at Harbor Lakes Golf Club and play occasionally. See pic below from our patio looking across 15th tee to 14th fairway:

There are about four up-scale restaurants in the Square and a half dozen or so mid-range eateries in the vicinity.

We have relatives who own boats so we get to spend some time on Lake Granbury.

The Tarrant County LSU alumni chapter has an annual crawfish boil and gets together to watch the Tigers whoop up on everybody.

My grandparents used to have a condo there, seemed like a run of the mill small Texas town. I feel like it would get boring quickly.

I have a buddy that moved onto granbury lake and we played the “other” granbury golf course. It’s a 2 star golf course. 2 star being generous with that second star.

But I’m cool with fewer people in the dfw area.

Yeah, De Cordova and Pecan Plantation were fairly new in the late’70’s. I won’t be able to retire in that type of luxury. Good on ya!

Dad lives in Pecan. I love visiting over there and he loves living there. But complains that there are no decent restaurants in the area. Have to go to Ft. Worth.

Great golf courses in that area and it is a beautiful little town. Ft. Worth is very nice and really not that far.

I wold be happy to retire in Granbury.
