LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Gov. Jeff Landry was in Lafayette this morning to sign a series of bills related to oil and gas, which Landry says will “unleash Louisiana’s coastal energy production.”
Beginning with HB 644 which Landry called the “big beautiful bill,” which, among other things, ended the legacy lawsuit that Landry says has been an issue for the industry for years.
SB 244 reorganized the Department of Natural Resources, establishing the state Department of Conservation and Energy, placing the governing of water resources at the state level.
Additionally, HB 600 will reduce the rate of severance tax on oil produced from newly completed wells from 12.5% to 6.5%.
Landry said these bills together mean growth for the industry and growth for Lafayette.
“Lafayette was always recognized as the Hub City,” Landry said. “Why? It’s the Hub City for oil and gas. We want Lafayette to be that city again. We want people to come to Louisiana and then to settle in Lafayette, in the energy sector. Because why? We stand at the crossroads between I-49 and I-10. What a great way to reach all of Louisiana.”

Gov Landry tries sucking big oil dick after bending them over in court. Story on 9News.
This dude is quickly becoming the worst, slimiest cocksucker governor that I’ve ever seen as a lifelong resident. Zero integrity. Never thought I’d see someone worse than JBE, but Landry may surpass him.

Quite interesting, ain't it.
Wonder if Carmouche had to approve his statements for this article.

Is the dumb fricker afraid all the oil will move to Texas to be drilled?

Keep this kind of stuff in mind when Landry tries to blame other things/people for the GATOR program failing.

Ehh...I think we have one of the higher severance taxes on this vs. our neighbors. Oil won't migrate, but maybe some thought is that down the road when companies are having to look at Tier 3 & 4 prospects, like finally diving in deeply and taking real chances on Austin Chalk, Louisiana won't be intentionally avoided.
Who knows if this helps, but that's the thinking behind the move. We'll see....

I don’t know where Landry comes up with this shite. Everyone knows they call it “Hub City” because of Hub City Diner.

I thought Hattiesburg was the Hub City. What do I know?

So just like Blanco, we have a Gov that only represents Lafayette.
