Got a parking citation from a California State Park ranger. Not a resident of Cali.

$71 for parking in front of a gate. I ripped it up immediately and want some encouragement from the OT that I did the right thing. Rental car if that changes anything.

I assume your credit card will get charged. Probably states that in rental agreement.

They'll send the bill to the rental car company who will then charge your card then mail you a letter saying they charged your card for the ticket.

I got a parking ticket in San Fran 10-12 years ago for an expired meter — bitch was standing there waiting for it to expire. Walked up and she said “I’ve already started writing...”
I forgot about it but 30 days later got an email from the rental company telling me about it. They paid the ticket and charged it to me plus a bullshite processing fee.
