God bless Jefferson Parish, where cops don’t put up with shite and criminals get prosecuted

And my trash pickup is reliable.
Y’all uptowners should come on over. The water’s warm.

Agreed. When you call the cops in JP they come in drives.
My car nor any in my neighborhood has never been broken into.
Nothing has been stolen from the outside of my house either.
Less homeless beggars.
And we are mask free in the JP

And it's cheaper, considering the type of home you can buy compared to what you can get for the same price in NOLA. JPRD is still a solid recreational option despite travel ball taking the best baseball players. Only thing that has declined is the public schools. Granted, I went to the nicer public schools, but there were plenty of students that could have been sent to the catholic schools but their parents, like mine, still felt comfortable sending their kids to Keller, Adams, King...not anymore.

Let the uptown liberal trash reap what they have sown and stay out of JP.

I was at those schools from 2000-2006. I can promise you they didn't bring the shite onto campus. There were 2, maaaaybe 3 fights in the 7 years I went to those schools. Don't talk about drugs like yall weren't stealing your parents pills at BM. I lived between WE and the lake, all my friends went to the catholic schools, and there was just as much underage drinking and drug use by those students...but I guess since they were white it's not as bad

I live on Brockenbraugh Ct. My car has been ripped off, and gangs routinely come down our street at night trying door handles.

It's not the high life, but it's better than a lot of other places. I'm 20 minutes from downtown, and can access all of the activities that Nola has to offer.
I'll be retiring in 10 years or less. I've thought about moving somewhere like people say I should do, like Mississippi or Florida, but why not just renovate my house and stay where I am? I might buy a condo in the mountains as a second home.
I appreciate my blessings more than I did in my youth.

I remember there was a deputy involved shooting with a JPSO deputy in the 90’s.
My memory is fuzzy on the details, but a suspect robbed a restaurant around closing time, and during the course of the robbery, he shot and killed at least one employee or customer inside the restaurant at which point he then fled the scene in a vehicle. JPSO locates the vehicle, tries to stop it, but the driver refuses and a pursuit ensues.
During the course of the pursuit, a deputy is standing on side of the road and instead of deploying spike strips to disable the vehicle, the deputy deploys a few rounds of gunfire, striking the suspect in the side of the head.
This effectively ended both the pursuit and the suspect’s life.
This obviously was a big story because of the robbery/murder at the restaurant, coupled with the deputy involved shorting, so Harry Lee responds to the scene and he is the one that speaks to the media. Not some public information officer.
Harry details all of the above to the media and mentions that the deputy had been placed on the required 2 day administrative leave that all deputies are put on when involved in a shooting.
A reporter then asks him if he expects any possible discipline for the deputy considering he shot the suspect in the side of the head as he drove pass in a pursuit and Harry’s response was typical Harry Lee. It was something along these lines:
“Disciplined? If anything, I may give him more paid days off as a reward. He sent a message tonight that I want to be clear about. If you come into my parish and murder one of my residents, then try to run from us, we’ll kill you”
Anyone else remember this?

Yeah, but then I would have to live in JP

Went to a few restaurants in JP recently and no masks and no one said shite.
That said, the national chain stores in Elmwood and I suppose elsewhere still require masks. Stupid.
