Made the round down to Cocodrie and Dulac yesterday. The old Cecil Lapeyrouse store near Cocodrie took three feet of water. It is 107 years old and has only taken water twice.
The other time was in 1926.
Back to work. Pushing trees to road and then heading to Dularge.

Ginger snaps and ice cold milk.
I'd murder a steak right now.
Edit: watching the joe rogan anthony bourdain interview from Sept 10, 2011.
It might be one of the finest long back and forth interviews...ever.

BFC- Are there a lot of trees down, that require you pushing them out? Good luck, brother.
Rando- I have been meaning to ask you how the nylon straps over your roof, attached to tractors, worked for you? Hopefully like a champ.

The big trees I have been cutting have been at my friends house up the street. There are beautiful oaks, pecans, elms etc down all over the area. Heartbreaking.
I only lost one oak tree
One large plum tree
Couple of tops off of my cypress trees
A sheet of tin on my big carporch and probably will have to put a new roof. Small potato’s when all is considered.
I watched the whole storm while sitting in my truck on my boat landing. I could just start to see the eye wall when it turned 5.5 miles from me. It was an experience.
Can actually say that I turned my truck broadside to a Cat 4 eyewall got out on the down wind side and took a leak.
Jim Cantore ain’t got nothing on BFC.
Time to fire up,I can see daylight.
