I'll take them seriously when they also say real estate is the Semaglutide of growing wealth.

None of this matters until private insurers change their stance on the drugs and start covering them. They are just too expensive to make a measurable impact of the overalls health of society.

Exercising is free (or it can be) of course that's not the route to take.

Most people benefit from the reduced food cravings . As such, there’s been suggestions that GLP-1 could be effective for alcohol dependency.

I just started on the lowest dose of wegovy. I’ve been lifting weights and cardio X4 a week at the gym. My stomach still has the fat. Primary care agreed that wegovy plus continued weight training would be a good multi prong assault.

I still enjoy meals, but the urge to eat snacks and graze is diminishing.

It will be interesting to see what the long term effects are after multi year usage and what happens when you stop taking the drug (even after lifestyle changes)

Don’t need personal responsibility or accountability. There’s a drug for that!

That shite blows out gallbladders but they fail to mention.

Weight loss is the cause of gallbladder problems, not the medicine itself. And if you take it (the meds) correctly and don't add on some kind of starvation diet, you should be fine.

I once as a joke asked my doctor (who is an old friend) what would happen if I wanted to lose weight fast and just drank water for two weeks. He know I was just kidding, but for my info he said you would lose weight so rapidly you would also lose valuable muscle and at the same time develop gallstones, gall sludge and almost certainly need your gallbladder removed.

You can take all the GLP-1 drugs you want but if you don't change your lifestyle you will remain fat.

the drugs literally change your lifestyle for you.

The fact GLP-1s piss off the OT so much is hilarious.

Isn't there evidence that if you don't do some exercise while on GLP, you will get bone decay or degradation of some sort.

I could be talking outta my arse, but I feel like I heard that somewhere.

I am sorry if this triggers people.

These drugs are one of the biggest achievements in the world. You have people who are destined for long-term poor health outcomes changing their life outlook by taking a simple shot weekly. How anyone can be against this for society is shocking to me. You are talking in a year’s time completely reviving someone’s health outlook.

I have to believe it more than brings a positive return for society. I can’t imagine the risk associated with these drugs outweighs being 33% above your healthy weight.

Ultimately it makes you not as hungry

That's it

You have to engage in a lifestyle change, unless the intent is to stay on the drug until you die.

I am glad this drug exists.

It is great to kick start weight loss for people who never learned self control or personal responsibility.

But if they can't manage to adopt those traits, they'll go back to fat as soon as they come off.

I *think* you have to be careful to stay on top of your proteins or else your muscles waste away as quick or quicker than your chub.

As "easy" as a once weekly shot is, it is still difficult to pull it off well and healthfully.

This topic really makes the OT show its arse. Nothing brings out the bitter and utterly fricking retarded takes like a drug that helps people lose weight. It’s the most amazing thing.
