If you think that's the sort of complication that holds things up, you're ignorant.

What should my response have been to that comment?

So break it down for me, Hippocrates, If I am the very first appointment of the day with a GP, why am I waiting ninety minutes to be seen?

Admit that you are powerless in the face of overwhelming evidence that the American medical system is broken and inefficient. Forget about why. That's political. Just admit it is true.

The fact is that your comment was ignorant. That's not me being arrogant. That's a fact. I'm ignorant about many things. If I suggested that I had to wait an hour or two to see an attorney because he was flirting with the court clerk when really it was the judge keeping him in court all morning I would be making an ignorant statement.

Did the doctor have rounds to make in the hospital before clinic?

The healthcare system, while it has flaws, is not broken.

Start on time like everybody else. You should know after a few years how long rounds take for a certain number and type of patients. Don't make me wait because you started late. Again, bullshite.

And/or did the doctor have to waste 45 min on bogus peer-to-peer phone calls with insurance companies to ensure that his patients receive the treatment that is obviously indicated and necessary.

Our first point of agreement.

Any good attorney would warn you about delays, keep you informed through staff, and minimize your waiting time.

That's not predictable. Sorry, but shite happens to those sick enough to require hospitalization.

Part of what you sign on for. Do it before or after you schedule clinic. Hire a staff person.

At a minimum, keep me informed. WTF can't you give me a text when you are getting close to the time I will be seen? Would that be so fricking hard? Hell, Chuy's does a better job when I am waiting for a table. Surely such non-arrogant but obviously intelligent people such as yourselves could work that out.

So why do docs schedule 8am appointments on those days?

If you are two hours off in your estimate, then you are fricking it up. If your rounds are consistently making you two hours late for clinic, then you are arrogantly and indifferently fricking it up.

And, by the way, you can start as early as you want to on rounds. Those crazy hospitals run 24 hours a day now!

Sure. Because they know when the Sheriff is going to forget to bring their client over from jail to the courthouse. They know when the judge decides to take the bench at 10:15 instead of 9:00. They know how long the other attorneys on cases before theirs are going to take. Nope, sorry, they don't and they can't warn you while you're waiting on them.
