Back in the 80’s, Pepsi would set up blind taste test.

I remember taking it at AstroWorld (or maybe outside of it in parking lot).

I did pick Coca Cola.

Last time I heard the phrase “Pepsi Challenge” was in the movie “Pulp Fiction”.

I don’t specifically remember taking the Pepsi challenge, but I know I had a Coca-Cola rugby style polo.

Astro world was legit.

Played in a tournament 3 times from spring through summer for baseball and would go to Astro world as a team each time. Of course, that was before tournament ball was cool and we didn’t have any Aidens, Braxtons, Or River’s on my teams

I remember taking it as a kid and cheating by telling my sister which one was coke. Funny thing is, now I prefer Pepsi.

I remember doing it at Warehouse Foods in Baton Rouge.

I want to say they had a 3rd option that was their old Generic Cola. But most of us kids just drank all three and didn't give a shite which was which.

They didn’t save up, they realized it would take about $250,000 in Pepsi points to win the Harrier jet, worth $70M (or what ever).

They tried to sue Pepsi for $70M minus the $250,000. The courts ruled in Pepsi’s favor.

What was the point of this challenge? Did people not know what Pepsi was back then?

Should've asked for the Harrier.

My second job ever. I worked at Warehouse Foods #2, corner of Old Jefferson and Airline. I was a bagboy. I actually made decent tips (for a 15 yo kid in 1983) because most purchases were hundreds of dollars. On a Saturday, I’d bring home $20-$30 in a four hour shift.

Yeah, did it at the esplanade mall. I preferred Coke but I knew if I picked Pepsi I'd win a prize. Got some Pepsi branded fake Wayfarer shades. Thanks OP for jogging that fond memory.

It was Pepsi’s big surge in the 80’s. This campaign as well as the “Pepsi Generation” campaign, plus Coke changing their formula, that put them very close to taking over Coke as #1.

Not sure what you are talking about, but they did this all across the country for at least a year around 82 or 83

I was in high school - I heard of it and in all trips to mall or movies never saw it. Definitely, didn’t take place in school.

Damn that's some serious tips back in early 80s.
The cartoon room was my jam. I was about 7-8 yrs old. We'd go there and then later Schwegmanns around the corner on Sherwood.

Burger King had an advertising campaign called "Where's Herb?". It was about a guy who had never eaten a Whopper in his life. If you spotted Herb out in public you won a prize. Well, I had a friend who looked like Herb. People were harassing the frick out of him for a while.

No, but I remember schools allowing Coco-Cola to push a delicious, green poison called "Surge" on innocent children back in the 90s. Seriously, who thought that was ok?
