Um...Endymion is a universal favorite.

2) Endymion is on their traditional route because all those law firms on Canal who donate money to Latoya told her they weren't giving that up.
Endymion is paying for JPSO to support NOPD. That’s why we’re riding on our traditional route, minus St. Charles Ave.

There sure were some wacky people running against her.
The notion that any of them were actually more wacky and had more potential to be more destructive to the city than her, was something I couldn't understand, though.

Noonie Man? A failed football coach? Antivaxxers? Manny fricking Bruno????
it's about trust. People knew Latoya from 4 years as mayor and her being on the council before that

Endymion has more leverage because it’s a major parade.

Anyone who wasn't in her base sure as shite didn't trust her. The slate of opposition was so unknown no one was showing up to vote for them. I say this in every thread about NOLA mayor no one in their right mind was running against her. Wait 4 years and COVID will be in the rear view and you don't have to run against an incumbent.

This
Endymion also pays for Mississippi state police and they own their own barracades. Additionally, Endymion is being forced to give probably 1/4 of their route which is the best part after turning off Carrollton.

Still don’t understand this move. I mean Iris and Tucks will pass on that same section of St Charles just hours before. What the point of moving to Loyola?

Does Thoth still rent floats?

Yep. Between Galvez and Claiborne usually sucked, but with the new hospitals in place, it has actually gotten better.

That section is so weird. The intersections were packed but the middle of the block had like 12 people total.

So you’ve never ridden in Endymion huh?

Remember the year it rained and the temp dropped like forty degrees and we decided to roll, there was literally no one in that area for about 3 blocks...
Probably the worst crowed I’ve ever seen.

I mean your whole post but
If you don't know the history you probably shouldn't comment.
As for the Thoth Sunday it's a friendly jab at Bacchus which experienced parade-goers would pick up on. I'm thinking you're more of a Metry parader based off of your post.
No you don't, otherwise you wouldn't paint with such a wide brush.
From a membership point of view only Endymion is a larger, all-male parade but you miss the point. Many parades are competitive but in a friendly way. (Save for Krewe d'Etat and Muses which pretty much hate each other). Each Krewe has their own identity. To compare much deeper than that is apples v oranges. Especially when comparing day parades v night parades.
Thoth owns all of their own equipment and dens. The last time they rented floats was probably close to a decade ago when they went through a(nother) growth spurt and needed 4. I remember because that year they had 3 or 4 minor breakdowns and they were all the rental (Kern) floats.

1) Thoth is the Texas 8&4 of Carnival. They constantly think they are more important than they are. There are many examples of this but "Thoth Sunday" is probably the best. The "look at us... we care about sick kids! and old people!" is starting to become silly.

But they think they are, as a parade, much bigger fish than they actually are. And they constantly suffer from Little Brother Syndrome...
