Only two Ms river bridges are in Northeast La at Vicksburg and Natchez. Then near St Fancisville you have a newer LEAST traveled bridge called the John James Audubon bridge opened in 2011 at a taxpayer cost of $409 million. Time for taxpayers to get their monies worth by directing motorists to cross the Ms river there.

That would be ok if they build a loop to get there and meet up with I-12 farther out.

Why don't we just use the perfectly good sunshine bridge also. Problem solved!

None of those are near one of the busiest interstates in the US and the main East-West corridor of the gulf coast.

This bridge is needed. Politicians are fricking it up though. Surprise surprise.

It took almost 20 years to build that bridge, even longer when the bill was passed for funding. Do you think the BR traffic is going to get better or worse in 20 years if we don't start planning expansion now? I remember in the early 2000's when the first "bridge committee" was formed, and the Iberville Parish President shot it down because it wasn't going to be in his parish. We might actually have another bridge right now if it weren't for selfish short-sided a-hole politicians wanting to know how they're going to get their cut out of the deal.

The problem with new bridges is that there are no roads to said bridge that make the bridge quicker to use.

How do you know about the size and/or shape of his a-hole?

We live in a time where it’s not okay to make fun of folks that may have a different body form than you do.

This is the problem. It's built too far south.

Sunshine bridge is also more for that i10 corridor and i12 is the corridor that needs relief.

Wasn't this money specifically allocated from the feds for the bridge? And now LA pols are just pocketing it? Someone clarify for me.

By the time the build the bridge the Sunshine Bridge will be at the perfect spot.

We do need a bridge badly.
Problem people building in areas that they would like to put the bridge is going to drive up the cost.

Until they say this is the spot.
We got the down payment.
But the land out.
Actually in the design phase.
It is going to cost more and will less likely happen.

Unfortunately, I probably will never see a completed bridge across the Miss River between the I-10 Bridge and around Plaquemine in my lifetime.

Ideally halfway between the Sunshine Bridge and I-10, maybe a little north of that point.

But I'm not picky. Start building it out to connect LA30 and LA1, and we'll figure out how to link it to I-10 in the meantime.

Just make the decision and move forward. Stop dicking around.

Frick building a new Ms River bridge, just drive a couple hours out of your way.

Your statement is as ignorant as where they put that bridge.

I miss friends and family in Louisiana, but don't miss the shitty infrastructure and politics.

A loop would be significantly cheaper. You could build better access to both it and sunshine and still be cheaper.
