Germany now has more new cases per capita than the United States

What this means is these European nations that crashed their economies even more than we did.....did it for no reason. It didn’t eradicate the virus

And doing it again wont either. Just let it roll through the way it was always going to do anyway.

The virus will never go away... at some point people will have to just accept that and hope a reliable vaccine gets out soon. Also, hey UN, why don't you levy some sanctions on China?

No shite huh? Wasn't SARS the last major pandemic before COVID? The response was nothing like this.

The people that don’t ultimately understand this strike me as people that think we can do a rain dance to control the weather.

People with common sense and half a brain realize this.
Sadly half the damn country and all of the media has neither so we will continue with the BS.

Love how people judged the response of the U.S., and any other country for that matter, up to this point. As if the deaths/cases per capita and economic response has been finite at any point. We won't know who responded most appropriately for some time after this. I side with the thinking that countries who didn't completely wreck their economies will be proven to be the prudent ones.

Once a virus this contagious escaped a very locally confined area, we were never going to eradicate it through isolation. It was just never feasible, and it seemed most people understood that back in March. I suspect the only reason the narrative shifted towards “lockdown until eradication” is because we are in large part a gullible people that got eaten up with politicized fear porn.

In the US, the Case Fatality Rate is currently at 2.6%, and that is only with known cases and having potentially every single state recording deaths "with Covid" just the same as they record those that are "from Covid".
