Founder of Adventures With Purpose indicted on felony child sx abuse charges from ‘90s

This is a co-founder of the YouTube diving group that found Kiely Rodni, a 16-year-old who was missing from the Truckee, California area after police searched and found nothing.

Apparently a cousin of his and Utah has no statute of limitations on these types of crimes. There are also emails between him and the victim/cousin about the incidents.
Other AWP members and other teams that work with AWP have made announcements on their YouTube channels regarding their stance on the situation.
It’s awful that this guy’s crimes could harm the important work the rest of these guys do to locate missing people and bring closure to families.

If he was 17 at the time this might be one of those "sex between a 17 and 16 year old where 16 is underage thus its a rape" situations.

Well he is the biggest douche on the channel. He would get super excited when they found somebody in a submerged vehicle. He yell to people on the bank that they found a body and get too excited about their discovery. He would do interviews in front of the dead person family were he was way to excited during somber occasions.
The wife and I even try not to watch episodes that he is in. The dude with the long beard seemed to calm this douche down, and he approaches the finding of someone's loved one under water with some respect and dignity.
Hopefully this guy gets swift punishment if he did this crime and the other guys continue on the channel because they have done a lot of good for others.
I've often wondered how many cars they would find under water in and around New Orleans? I remember a story a while back where several cars were found in a NOLA canal. I'm sure some are in there from Katrina, but how many could be in there from insurance fraud, murder, and accidents.

This is certainly awful, on more than one level. Personally, I preferred watching Jared on the channel to Doug flying solo.
This sort of answers my question as to why Jared disappeared in the last few months, even though they covered for him saying that he travels at least 150 days per year.
I don't think there is anything nefarious about the work they do, in fact I think it's a necessary thing. Sad that it turns out like this. I hope the channel and the movement can remain successful.
