Update. He threw out first pitch today before the White Sox/Brewers game. Says he wants to pitch next year. Here's to his continued recovery.

What a horrible thing to have happen. Having the trainers and an ambulance close by saved him from a worse outcome, probably. I feel for those kids.

Hopefully his age and being in really good shape will help him heal so he can be there for his children, wife, and family. He sounds like a truly good guy.

Aweful news. Prayers to a full recovery.
Danny is a great guy. We used to hang out a little in college, he was always one of nicest people in the room.
