For those of you with side jobs for extra income, how many hours are you putting in?

I can take on 5 hours of extra work/week for $1000/month. But the “5 hours” is mostly arbitrary. I could do more or less depending on how much money I want and how much it’ll interfere with my family and personal time.

If you do make sure it's something you enjoy doing or it will become a hated chore quickly.

Put in, most weeks, probably 8-10 hours a week on a side gig. It's remote contract work that I can do whenever I see fit, and it's been great to supplement my meager income.

It can be tough, however, to have to wake up early in the morning to do the side gig and then go to work or come back from a long day in the office and immediately start working again.

Yeah that’s where I’m at as well. I’m a teacher so going right into more teaching is a drag. But it pays well and we need the money right now.

Rent out a basement living area. Pays about $800 a month, and I can flip that area in about 30 minutes between stays. I’ll probably always buy a house with a finished basement or bonus room above a garage from here on out because it’s such easy money.

I pick up side jobs as a sort of hobby that pays me. I do them when I can and they are available.

Deliver groceries for Walmart. Average 1200/month. As far as time goes, just depends on how much the orders are for. But since it's gig work I can do it anytime I have free time.

I was looking for a side hustle and then I found the right one. Now I only work a few hours a week and make 50,000 per month. I’m ready to stop working my 9-5. I am looking for 20 others who want to learn what I do.

Click on the link in my profile.

Thinking about getting CDL and picking up some trucking driving work on days off. Seems like there is at least a demand for it.

I used to just work 5 or 6 hours per week on the side but now it's more like 10 or 15 due to Bidenflation.

About 3-5 extra hours a week for another 1000 after taxes. It’s just extra work for my main job, i don’t have to do it. But if i have the time , i just spend a few hours on Friday working from home to get things done. And it puts me ahead for the next week.

I can understand passive income, but I’ve never understood adults working jobs insufficient to provide enough income to where you need side gigs. Life is too short

Back when I was making plaques, I’d pull in $3-$4k a month, but my nights and weekends were pretty much spoken for. I’d even use downtime between my day job to design them. It got to be too much so I sold all my tools and made my garage a hang out spot.
