While it is true the larger greenhouses on some older cars offer better sight lines it is at the expense of weaker A,B and C pillars compared to modern passenger vehicles.

In the end it is impossible to argue cars even one generation old cars are as safe as similar new cars.

That said a lot of people could care less about safety, I see plenty of baws jack up their trucks even when they never go farther off-road than a mud puddle on a job site or in the plant parking lot.
